James Ma, Ph.D.
Founder and President
James founded PepTech Corp. 30 years ago with a vision to provide top quality chemistry products and services to the pharma industry. Without any outside funding, he has grown the company from a few employees to about 300 chemists with two facilities. Previously he had worked in the biotech industry for several years on drug discovery research. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Louisville and was awarded the Dean’s Citation for Excellence.
Xiaowen Sun, Ph.D.
General Manager
Xiaowen oversees all R&D and manufacturing operations at PepTech, including custom synthesis, process development, and large-scale production across both facilities. He got his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Lanzhou University and has over 14 years of academic and industry experience working in France, UK and US. He investigated the total synthesis of insect antifeedant azadirachtin at the Scripps Research Institute under the guidance of Prof. K. C. Nicolaou. Prior to joining PepTech, he conducted medicinal chemistry research at Abraxis BioScience Inc. for five years.
